"...with the characteristic short muzzle and undershot jaw of its trade or use, which if bred out or allowed to degenerate into other types, the breed would become no longer the mastiff, as they approached nearer in type to their boarhound, bloodhound, or Alpine sheepdog ancestry; foul crosses which have been introduced to the detriment of the true type. Vast dogs long on the legs, somewhat light in bone for their size, are not in reality mastiffs, whatever their owners may think." Wynn
Our Mission
We are dedicated to the preservation of the Carr White English. We breed only in following with the dogs bred for four generations in my family. It is our intention to save the rapidly disappearing CWE and it's remarkable, rare temperament and physical abilities that make it such a wonderful breed. It is the combination of this temperament and ability that we are preserving. We are not professional breeders, are not interested in the show circuit, and our efforts are by far, anything from a business.
It is not our intention to popularize the breed, produce puppies for profit, or to make show dogs out of farm dogs. They never have been a show dog and we plan to keep them that way, strictly a working farm dog. It is our belief that popularizing a breed is most certainly the beginning of the end of what makes a breed so unique. It is the quickest and surest way to destroy a breed. We do not wish to change the CWE in any way whatsoever, only to preserve them as they are.
We do not breed for the public or for profit, only placing our dogs in proper environments that allow for the best expression and use of their breeding and function. The purpose of this site is simply to educate others as to the existence of this rustic bloodline and our efforts in saving it.
Occasionally I will allow breeders of other breeds the use of one of my dogs as an outcross to their stock. I do not consider my self a breeder, rather a conservator of these amazing dogs.
